1 Sir Muhammad Iqbal

He was a Muslim poet, philosopher and politician born in Sialkot, British India (now in Pakistan), whose poetry in Urdu and Persian is considered to be among the greatest of the modern era,] and whose vision of an independent state for the Muslims of British India was to inspire the creation of Pakistan. He is commonly referred to as Allama Iqbal The poetry and philosophy of Mawlana Rumi bore the deepest influence on Iqbal’s mind. Deeply grounded in religion since childhood, Iqbal began intensely concentrating on the study of Islam, the culture and history of Islamic civilization and its political future, while embracing Rumi as “his guide.”2 Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan
He was a classical Urdu and Persianpoet from the Indian subcontinent during British colonial rule. During his lifetime the Mughals were eclipsed and displaced by the British and finally deposed following the defeat of the Indian rebellion of 1857, events that he wrote of.Most notably, he wrote several ghazals during his life, which have since been interpreted and sung in many different ways by different people. His life marked the struggle of person who didn’t have more than a primary level of education, who worked as ordinary laborer for years in odd jobs, and finally became a poet of excellence. His autobiographyJahan-i-Danish is a classic now and has motivated many.Ehsan Danish has written more than 80 books and hundreds of articles on poetry, prose, linguistics, philology, autobiography and the famous interpretation of “Diwan-e-Ghalib”. Only 5% of his works are published till now and the remaining books are still left unpublished either in the manuscript form or published only once.
4.Parveen shakir
Parveen Shakir a PakistaniUrdupoet, teacher and a civil servant of the Government of Pakistan.Shakir started writing at an early age and published her first volume of poetry, Khushbuto great acclaim, in 1976She subsequently published other volumes of poetry – all well-received – including Inkaar [Refusal], Sad-barg [Marsh Marigold], Khud Kalami [Conversing with the Self] and Kaf-e-Aa’ina ,besides a collection of her newspaper columns, titled Gosha-e-Chashm [The Sight Corner], and was awarded one of Pakistan’s highest honours, the Pride of Performance for her outstanding contribution to literature Shakir died in 1994, as a result of a car accident while on her way to work.
5. Noshi Gilani
She is a legendary female Urdupoet of international fame and a former academic from the Bahawalpur University, Punjab Pakistan.She is one of the Urdu leading poets in Pakistan has successfully published five collections of poetry. Her poetry collection published in Pakistan Includes: Mohabatain Jab Sumar Kurna (When you would count affections, 1993) Udas Honay Kay Din Naheen (These are not the days of sadeness, 1997) Pehla Lafz Mohabat Likha (The first word written was “Love”, 2003) Hum Tera Intezaar Kurtey Rahey (O my beloved, I kept waiting you, 2008. In 2008, her poerty was translated in English and her poems were read in the UK, with the Poetry Translation Centre’s World Poets’ Tour.
6.AHMED FARAZ
Ahmed Faraz was a Pakistaniurdu poet. He was considered one of the greatest modern Urdu poets of the last century. Faraz is his pseudonym ‘takhallus’, whereas his real name is Syed Ahmad Shah. Ahmed Faraz died in Islamabad on August 25, 2008.Ahmed Faraz, who has been compared with Faiz Ahmed Faiz, holds a unique position as one of the best poets of current times, with a fine but simple style of writing.[3] Even common people can easily understand. Ethnically a Hindkowan, Ahmed Faraz studied Persian and Urdu at the Peshawar University. He later became lecturer at the Peshawar University7. Amjad Islam Amjad
Amjad Islam Amjad, is a famous Urdu poet, drama writer and lyricist from Pakistan.He received his education in Lahore. He graduated from Islamia College Civil Lines, Lahore. His career started as a lecturer in M.A.O College Lahore. From 1975 to 1979 he worked as a director at Pakistan Television Corporation before returning to the College.In 1989 he was appointed as Director General of Urdu Science Board. Currently he is the project director of the Children Library Complex. He is the author of over 40 books and received several national and PTV awards.
8.Faiz Ahmed Faiz
Faiz Ahmed Faiz was a renowned Pakistanipoet, and one of the most famous poets of the Urdu language. He was a member of the Anjuman Tarraqi Pasand Mussanafin-e-Hind (All India Progressive Writers’ Movement) and an avowed Marxist. In 1962, he was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize by the Soviet Union.
9.Hafiz Jalindhri
Abu-Al-Asar Hafeez Jalandhuri Pakistani writer, poet and, above all, composer of the National Anthem of Pakistan. He was born in Jalandhar, Punjab, British India on January 14, 1900. After independence of Pakistan in 1947, Hafeez Jullundhri moved to Lahore. Hafeez made up for the lack of formal education with self-study but he has the privilege to have some advise from the great Persian poet Maulana Ghulam Qadir Bilgrami. His dedication, hard work and advise from such a learned person carved his place in poetic pantheon.
10. Qateel Shifai

Aurangzeb Khan or Qateel Shifai was a PakistaniUrdu poet.Qateel Shifai was born in Haripur, Hazara Division, British India (now Pakistan).He adopted Qateel Shifai as his pen name in 1938 under which he was known in the world of Urdu poetry. “Qateel” was his “takhallus” and “Shifai” was in honour of his ustaad Hakim Mohammed ‘Shifa’ whom he considered his mentor.
